Other poems about Brooke and her useless Dad appear on Smories.com.\u00a0 Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smories.com\/author\/steve-bynghall\/\">http:\/\/www.smories.com\/author\/steve-bynghall\/<\/a> for more details.\u00a0 If you want to be notified when a new Brooke story will be\u00a0appearing please email <a href=\"mailto:brookesortsitout@gmail.com\">brookesortsitout@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"poem\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Brooke and the Ramshackle Ship<\/h2>\n<p>Brooke&#8217;s Dad was the captain<br \/>\nOf the world&#8217;s most hopeless boat<br \/>\nIt was ramshackle and rotten<br \/>\nIt could hardly stay afloat!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And on this useless vessel<br \/>\nWere the completly useless crew<br \/>\nA set of silly sailors<br \/>\nWho didn&#8217;t have a clue!<\/p>\n<p>The engine wasn&#8217;t working<br \/>\nThe ship radio would fail<br \/>\nThe boat just wasn&#8217;t good enough<br \/>\nTo go out and set sail!<\/p>\n<p>Brooke had a big big think<br \/>\nShe thought &#8220;It&#8217;s up to me!<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll help make things better<br \/>\nSo we can go to sea!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All the paint was peeling<br \/>\nNothing was ship shape!<br \/>\nA hole in the boat&#8217;s bottom<br \/>\nWas fixed with sticky tape!<\/p>\n<p>Brooke shook her head and said<br \/>\n&#8220;It&#8217;s like nobody cares!<br \/>\nLet&#8217;s give this boat a paint<br \/>\nAnd work on the repairs!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The crew quaked in their cabins<br \/>\nThey blubbered and they wailed!<br \/>\nThe were scared of ocean serpents<br \/>\nWith fangs and slimy scales!<\/p>\n<p>Brooke yelled &#8220;What nonense!<br \/>\nSea monsters don&#8217;t exist!<br \/>\nStop being such silly sailors!<br \/>\nI really must insist!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The cook always felt seasick<br \/>\nEach time the boat rocked.<br \/>\nHe never felt like making food<br \/>\nEven when the boat was docked!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ride on a rollercoaster<br \/>\nAnd keep getting on and on!<br \/>\nAfer that waves will feel tame<br \/>\nYour sickness will be gone!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The navigator on the boat<br \/>\nDidn&#8217;t know where he was going<br \/>\nIn fact he didn&#8217;t even seem to know<br \/>\nWhich way the wind was blowing!<\/p>\n<p>Brooke said &#8220;Your bad steering<br \/>\nCould really cause a rumpus!<br \/>\nYou need to use binoculars<br \/>\nA map and a compass!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So with all Brooke&#8217;s ideas on board<br \/>\nThings improved so fast<br \/>\nThat the boat felt like it was new<br \/>\nIt could set sail at last!<\/p>\n<p>And in the middle of the ocean<br \/>\nThe now excellent crew<br \/>\nSang a song as they sailed<br \/>\n&#8220;Brooke, it&#8217;s all thanks to you!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The End<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;<em>Brooke and the Ramshackle Ship<\/em>&#8221; Copyright \u00a9 2010 by Steve Bynghall, All Rights Reserved<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Steve Bynghall Steve Bynghall lives in London, England.
